Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sign up for lessons?

There are three simple ways to get more information about signing up for classes with Americana Music Academy

1. Fill out any of the forms on this website. Someone will get back to you within 48 hours (hopefully much sooner!)

2. Email us at americanamusicacademy@gmail.com

3. Call us during normal business hours at 785-830-9640. If nobody picks up, please leave a detailed message!

How much do lessons cost?

Private lessons cost $25 per 30-minute session, or $100 per month. Group lessons are significantly less expensive but AMA instrurctors need to have at least three students enroll to have a group lesson run.

Where do lessons take place?

As of March 19, 2021 all lessons at Americana Music Academy are taking place virtually unless specific plans have been made between the students and their instructor. We hope to get back to in-person lessons at our headquarters (1419 Massachusetts St in Lawrence, KS) as soon as it is safe to do so.

What protocols are in place to combat the COVID-19 coronavirus?

We have been working diligently with our board of directors and local public health authorities to design a plan to combat the spread of COVID-19. Due to the infectious nature of the virus and the nature of music instruction (playing and singing in enclosed spaces), our board of directors has suspended in-person lessons for the time being and all of our lessons are conducted remotely via videoconferencing software such as Zoom, Skype, Google MeetUp or FaceTime.

What instruments does Americana teach?

Here at Americana we're proud to teach a wide variety of instruments and musical styles, including improvisation, songwriting and production. For a complete list, please see elsewhere on the website and this list will be updated continuously as we bring more instructors on board!
