Small Birds of Sound

Small Birds of Sound is an alternative acoustic-electric rock band, born in Santa Cruz, CA, raised in northern New Mexico, happily settled in Lawrence KS. Jessica Molla sings, plays guitars, baritone ukelele, keys, glockenspiel, and assorted percussion, and Chris Molla sings some while he works out on a Roland FR-4x digital accordion (a band in a squeezebox). Their sound blends indie rock, “y’all-ternative”, european folk elements, and that venerable Camper Van Beethoven vibe (Chris being a founding member of that still-notorious-to-folks-in-the-know band). They frequently perform as a duo, and sometimes as a power trio with daughter Max on drums.
