Robin started piano at age 5, violin at age 9, guitar at age 12, and ukulele and bass as an adult. She
has been songwriting as far back as she can remember. Despite wanting to enter the field of music
in university, she was strongly influenced by her parents to enter the field of medicine, and she holds
a BS in Biochemistry, an MS in Biology, and an MD degree with Psychiatry as her specialty. Now
she devotes herself to music full time, specializing in working with beginners on piano and
songwriting. She strives to give children (as young as 4) and adults the skills to be creative
themselves and encourages personal exploration in music in the directions the student chooses.
Each student is invited to a safe and supportive environment, to come as themselves wherever they
are in life and in musical skills, and to develop a personal relationship with the joys of music and
creativity.

Robin believes Americana Music Academy offers the optimal combination of lessons, connections,
and musical community to achieve these goals.
